- SUSTAINABILITY LAB
- In view of global challenges such as climate and environmental protection, securing the supply of energy and water, innovations in key technologies, international competitiveness or questions of justice, the inter- and transdisciplinary research field of sustainability sciences has established itself worldwide. The concept of sustainable sciences has established trans- and interdisciplinary forms of research that share an orientation towards the goals of sustainable development. In this context, the need has arisen from various directions to view the search for solutions in engineering and the natural sciences more strongly against the background of a social embedding of technology. For this reason, the sustainability sciences integrate several branches of science and research in order to gain insights into societal, socio-economic, engineering (or technical) and natural science challenges. An essential requirement hereby is not to look at individual problems from separate disciplinary perspectives. Only such an integrating view of the problems to be dealt with allows for complexity appropriate to the subject matter. The aim is to clarify the various effects and interactions on the one hand, but also the influences of involved and interested actors. This includes the complex interplay of environment and society as a whole. This common background is the starting point for predominantly applied and practice-oriented research on and for sustainable development.
The mission of EUt+ “European Values empowering technology” expresses this intention. For bringing together expertise from all partner universities and enable joint working in this field, the idea of an EUt+ Sustainability Lab has arisen. It may offers us a space for discussion and research in EUt+ in bringing together all colleagues interested in topics of sustainable development. It will for sure be a wide variety of topics, probably even similar as it can also been seen for example in the Sustainable Development Goals, the SGDs. - EUTINN

EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE OF NANOMATERIALS AND NANOTECHNOLOGIES
The European University of Technology Institute of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies, EUTINN aims at bringing together the 8 partners of the EUt+ working on the topics of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies. This Institute gathers the expertise and know-hows of the 8 partners but also to gather the different ways of working and approaching issues and applications in the field of nanosciences and nanotechnologies.
Six research themes have been identified within EUTINN organised within work packages:- Work package 1-WP1: Nanomaterials
- Work package 2-WP2: Nanotechnologies and sensors
- Work package 3-WP3: Nanotechnologies for communication and information technologies
- Work package 4-WP4: Nanotechnologies for energy applications
- Work package 5-WP5: Nanomedicine & nanobiology
- Work package 6-WP6: Nanomaterials & nanotechnologies: toxicology, pollution, food and agriculture
Within these 6 work packages, EUTINN wants to address the question ‘think human first… using nanos’.
Within the EUt+ Institute of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies, research projects/internships are proposed to favour the exchange of students but also the exchange of professors and researchers.
Exchanges for training and teaching with the areas of EUTINN are also proposed.
- ECT LAB+
- The European Culture and Technology Laboratory, ECT Lab+, is a key component of the European University of Technology.
Transdisciplinarity for understanding technology
ECT Lab+, as a transdisciplinary collaborative structure, conducts cutting-edge research and in-depth investigations into the nature and function of technology. Its objective is to clarify and promote a specific European model around technology while helping legal and regulatory frameworks to evolve in a relevant direction.
Research missions
Following its formal establishment on February 4, 2020, ECT Lab+'s mission is to:- Promote a transdisciplinary perspective on technology through the articulation of Philosophy, Social Sciences, Art & Humanities, and Engineering Sciences
- Integrate research on the humanities and social sciences into the overall research of the European University
- Create a critical mass in research in the arts, humanities and social sciences within the European university.
- ELARA
- The European Laboratory For Pedagogical Action - Research And Student-Centred Learning (ELaRA) will be organised around a number of research themes:
- innovative student-centred pedagogies to promote self-directed, lifelong learning in technology education that develop the learner as a person by promoting intellectual development, creativity, problem solving and cultural awareness,
- change in higher education, changing epistemologies and teaching practice, teacher development and methods to facilitate change,
- educating students about the role of technology in society including ethics and professional development and
- broadening participation in technology education by increasing female participation and recruiting from a broader spectrum of society including refugees.
- DATA SCIENCE
-
Data Science is a fast-growing research field covers many scientific domains where data are at the core of developing cutting-edge technologies, at both pure academic and applicative industrial and societal levels. Exchanging complementary know-how in this domain between Eut+ research teams will certainly contribute to build an outstanding scientific ambitious project, in a competitive European landscape.
The data Science Lab is planning a first workshop on 18th January 2022, aiming to offer an opportunity to all partners to present their research activities related to data science. Interactions during this workshop will yield the strengths of EUt+ research teams and will allow to put the first cornerstones of an outstanding scientific project of this institute.

We are organizing a workshop on "Data Science and Applications" on 29th - 30th September 2022. This workshop is a good opportunity to foster further the collaboration within the recently established EUt+ Data Science Lab.
