The Learning Development Network of the Cyprus University of Technology and the European Laboratory For Pedagogical Action - Research And Student-Centred Learning (ELaRA) of EUT+, invite you to the seminar titled “Lessons learnt”, delivered by Andria Zafirakou, on November 26, 2021, 17:00 – 18:00 CET.

About Andria Zafirakou

Andria Zafirakou was born in north-west London to Greek-Cypriot parents. In the educational community it came as no surprise when she was awarded the Global Teacher Prize 2018, as her  teaching  philosophies  on  building  relationships  between  students  and  teachers  have motivated hundreds of pupils to love learning. She is now Associate Deputy Headteacher at Alperton Community School where she started her teaching career 14 years ago. Andria has also been named in the top ten of The Evening Standard's 1000 Londoners List. She is a Culture Leader  for  the  World  Economic  Forum  as  well  as  a  member  of  the  Global  Future  Leaders Council. Andria sits on the Advisory board for the Cultural Leaders Alliance, Art UK and was the winner of the prestigious GIWA (Greek International Women's award) for Arts and Culture in 2021. Her debut and best selling book “Those Who Can, Teach: What It Takes To Make the Next Generation”, was published by Bloomsbury in April 2021.  

Aim of the seminar

The seminar will explore the lessons learnt and reflect on the challenges that have arisen in the last 18 months regarding education and young people. Andria Zafirakou will introduce us
to an educational environment where we will learn what we need to stop, continue or start doing in our classrooms, through these lessons. The seminar is open access and is addressed to professionals working in primary, secondary and tertiary education, freelancers in the field of education, students who will follow the field of learning and education, but also the wider public.
