EUt+ Work-Based Learning approach

EUt+ focuses on Work-Based Learning (WBL), with an emphasis on facilitating Erasmus+ internships for our students. That is, a primary focus of this task is on improving participation in Erasmus+ internships and ensuring their formal recognition.

A secondary but equally important focus is the incorporation of WBL experiences into the EUt+ Guidelines for a Joint Degree. These guidelines serve as a framework for designing joint bachelor’s and master’s programmes across the EUt+ alliance. Embedding WBL within this matrix helps ensure that students acquire not only technical expertise but also vital professional competencies, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world adaptability.

WBL can take multiple forms, such as internships in companies or research institutions, final degree projects or theses conducted in collaboration with industry, placements in university administrative offices, or participation in entrepreneurship modules and innovation workshops.

Integrating WBL and entrepreneurship into the engineering curriculum is essential to preparing graduates for an increasingly complex and fast-evolving professional landscape. Beyond academic excellence, today’s engineers must be innovative, flexible, and entrepreneurial, ready to tackle global challenges with both technical and transversal skills.

Erasmus+ Internships at EUt+ Campuses

All EUt+ partner institutions welcome students for Erasmus+ internships at their campuses. Erasmus+ offers support for internships abroad to students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Programme Countries, at short-cycle, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral levels.

Completing an internship abroad is a valuable opportunity to enhance your knowledge, skills, and competences — qualities highly sought after by employers.

Erasmus+ internships can be funded for periods ranging from 2 to 12 months. To apply, contact the international or Erasmus+ office at your higher education institution.
