The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign that calls for the elimination of all forms of gender-based violence (GBV). Each year, organisations and communities around the world come together to raise awareness, strengthen prevention, and support those affected.

EUt+ partners were the first European University Alliance to jointly endorse the Caliper Charter where Combatting Gender Based Violence is one of three key principles.  Under the Charter partners commit to inclusive, safe and free of gender based violence work and study environments in research and innovation ecosystems.

Participating in the campaign, two events are scheduled in UNICAS: the first one organised by the new Unicas center against violence, jointly with the students' representatives association.  The second event is a conference organized  by colleague, Prof. Daniela Bolognino, at the department of Law: "Women, work, power: Reforms and gender gaps."

Meanwhile, h_da will be participating this year with various activities including a widescale promotional campaign on screens throughout campus, on posters, on their website, as well as raising the Orange Days flag. Their central showroom is lit up orange and has been reserved to exhibit information about the Orange the World campaign.  CUT illuminated their Senate building in orange, while UPCT joined the campaign by illuminating the main building of our Rectorate in purple in addition to displaying a large banner on the façade with a message against gender-based violence.  Purple is an alternative symbolism associated with domestic violence awareness.

TU Dublin supports the call to action by promoting inclusion, psychological safety, and wellbeing for all staff and students.  Today December 1st is the official launch of TU Dublin's Zero Tolerance Pledge launch, which states that violence against women is not tolerated on their university campuses. Watch this short video from the World Health Organisation on 30 years of gender equality 1995-2025 to better understand the challenges facing women globally.
