TUCN launches ECROS – Empowering early Career Researchers with Opportunities and Skills, a European project dedicated to developing the careers of early-stage researchers

The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN) has officially launched the ECROS project – Empowering early Career Researchers with Opportunities and Skills, within the framework of the European University of Technology (EUt+) alliance. The launch event took place on Friday, October 10, in the UTCN HUB Aula, bringing together representatives of the European Commission, members of the TUCN implementation team and the EUt+ consortium, as well as young researchers from the university.

Coordinated by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, in collaboration with partners from the EUt+ alliance, two non-governmental organizations, and industrial partners, the ECROS project aims to create an ecosystem for career support and development for early-stage researchers (R1 and R2 levels) within the consortium’s member universities. Its main focus areas are:
  • Structured career guidance and mentoring services;
  • Continuous training and development of transversal and industrial skills;
  • Mobility and intersectoral collaboration opportunities.
The official launch event included presentations by the ECROS coordinator, Prof. Dr. Eng. Camelia Lemnaru, as well as by European Commission representatives: Dario Capezzuto, European Policy Officer, DG RTD, R&I Actors and Research Careers, and Maria Carvalho, Project Officer, DG Research & Innovation.

In addition, the main work packages of the project were presented, and discussions focused on internal planning and the next steps for implementing ECROS.
